Physics Department Tour - Intro. Astronomy Lab (Halsey 364)

This is the laboratory for the introductory astronomy classes (103/104). The room was photographed as it was at the end of the fall 2001 semester.

The globes are used in a series of labs to explore the motions of the night sky (in 103). Many of the labs also use the computers to simulate all sorts of astronomical processes (the motion of Jupiter's moons, the light from stars, the recession of distant galaxies, etc) that are explored by students.
