Since September of 2000, I've been the INSTRUMENTATION SPECIALIST for Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Microbiology, and Med Tech.

A 1990 graduate of the Bachelor of Liberal Studies weekend program at the University of Wisconsin, my education includes about 70 cr. of Gen. Eds. and Geology taken between 1972 and 1975 and another 30 cr. of Computer Science and Business classes in '81 - '83. Altogether, from programming standpoint, I've had BASIC, COBOL, FORTRAN, PASCAL, PL/I, and ANSI C, as well as Business Calculus and Accounting. In 1994, I completed 64 hours of off-site training in National Instruments LabView Graphical Instrumentation programming. I've completed Digital Electonics, Microprocessor Applications, and Instrumentation, all at a Graduate level, at this university.

Between 1969 and 1972, I was a Field Microwave Communications Systems Technician in the U.S. Army. I was an Assistant Manager of a Radio Shack store in 1973 and '74 while attending UW-Madison full time. Since 1976, I've been employed as an Engineering Technician (1976 - 1980) at a portable electric generator manufacturing company., a Field Technical Representative - Paper Manufacturing Process Control for Honeywell/Measurex (1983 -1986), an Electrical Systems Project Designer (1987 - 1994) for an appliance manufacturer., and an Electronic Controls Test Systems Engineer and Electronics Development Lab Supervisor for another white goods builder (1994 - 2000).

I'm sort of a Mac addict . Below, on the left, is my Mac Mini. This is a 1.25 GHz G4 version with 1 GB DDR RAM, 40 GB HD. A Radeon 9200 with 32 MB DDR is built in. The monitor here is a Dell 15" flat panel display (VGA). For this, my 500 MHz Cube gave its all, which was purchased with the proceeds from the sale of a 450 MHz G4 Tower. The coin for that one was thanks to a Beige G3 Desktop.

I have a "gaming" machine also. On the right is a home made windows box with an ASUS mobo, 1Gb of DDR RAM, 7200 RPM HD (60 GB), and a Chinese made ATI Radeon 9550 (white box) w/128 Meg DDR. The CPU is a Athlon XP 2400+ (2 GHz). OS is XP Professional.

Critters are cool. One can never have too many dogs. On the left is Chumley (AKA "Bugle") a pedigree Beagle. His buddy is Dufuss (AKA "Cisco"), a Cockapoo.

And here is BD (AKA "Micky"), a registered Red Dapple Miniature Dachshund. The latest addition is a Traditional Smooth Minature Dachshund female named Peanut (AKA "Mia").

There are also four cats!!!
