Physics for Fun
Franklin Elementary School in Oshkosh has a Learning Fair in February. They invite people from outside the school to involve the students in workshops on everything from line dancing to crafts. I usually bring demonstrations on sound and light to share. And we top it off by making personal batches of "gak" (what I knew as "slime" as a child) under the auspices of learning about plastics which come somewhere between solids and liquids. If you are interested in sharing your talents, I am sure that Learning Fair Coordinator Connie Merkel (424-0078) would love to hear from you. As a memento of your visit, you may receive artistic impressions of your activities as I have in the past. A few samples are shown below.
