First Annual Egg Drop Contest
On February 29, 1996 the UW-Oshkosh chapter of the Society of Physics Students held their First Annual Egg Drop Contest. It was a rousing success...50% of the eggs survived their trip down the northwest stairwell of Halsey. Of course, there were only two eggs entered in the contest and both of them by the same team (a slight breach of the rules), but that should not detract from the thrill of the contest. Some selected images captured during the contest:
Dan Kramer prepares for a one-and-a-half-story drop.
Chemistry faculty Bill Wacholtz and Jennifer Mihalick enjoy watching the action.
Dan replaces his injured egg from a failed first attempt.
Brian Allen gets free advice for his team's next attempt.
A lull in the action.
Scoping out the course.
Brian releases his Egg Safety Device in a succesful three-story drop.
