Waves and Fields for Teachers

Everything in nature is a wave! In this course we explore the nature of waves. Topics include vibrations of strings and rods, the mass-spring system, pendulum, diffraction and interference, and sound.

Waves and Fields for Teachers will be offered Summer Session I, June 16 to August 8, 2008. We will meet in Halsey Science 367 on Monday mornings, 8-1 p.m. (including a 1-hour working lunch).

We expect this course to fill quickly, so enroll early! To receive early course materials, please enroll no later April 1, 2008.

PS 501 is an introduction to the Physics/Physical Science Track. Emphasis will placed on math and computer skills needed for PS 505 and PS 510.
