Physics/Physical Science Track

In this track, we explore key science concepts through active engagement in laboratory activities, collaborative groups, and online discussions. Participants will be immersed in the Modeling Method of Instruction and computer-based data collection and analysis. Course materials are research-based and aligned to state and national science education standards.

To complete the Physics/Physical Science Track must complete the following courses (15 credits total):

Waves and Fields for Teachers (PS 501), 5 cr.
Optics for Teachers (PS 505), 5 cr.
Classical Mechanics for Teachers
(PS 510), 5 cr.

These courses are suitable for physics or physical science teachers (grades 9-12). More advanced teachers (e.g. experienced Modelers and AP physics instructors) will be challenged through special activities and problem sets. If you are not interested in the full degree, you may enroll in individual courses as a 'Special Student'.
