About the Program

The Master of Science in Education (Secondary Science) program is a unique collaboration of the UW Oshkosh College of Education & Human Services, College of Letters & Science, and the Green-Bay based Space Education Initiatives. The MSE program seeks to:

(1) strengthen your understanding of subject-matter content
(2) sharpen your teaching skills, and
(3) train you in the latest classroom technology.

Teachers may pursue this degree through one of two tracks: physics and physical science, or earth and space science. All courses has been carefully designed to meet state and national content and professional development standards.

We Fit Your Schedule!

The MSE program is specifically designed for the busy working professionals. Courses are offered during the school year and during the summer, when you can take them! Most courses are taught online or in a blended (mixture of online and on-campus sessions) format.  The program can be complete in as little as two years.

For course scheduling and a sample completion schedule, download the MSE program announcement.

As a MSE student, you will complete 15 credits in education and 15 credits in a content area (30 credits total.)  You may transfer up to 9 graduate level credits from another accredited institution with approval of the Graduate Program Coordinator.  You may also receive credit for previous UW Oshkosh courses (like Modeling Physical Science or courses completed through Space Education Initiatives.)

If you are not interested in the full degree, we encourage you to enroll in individual courses as a 'Special Student'!
