The Applied Emphasis in Physics
This program
is designed for students interested in practical application of physics,
computing electronics and instrumentation. Because this emphasis competes
well with various engineering and computer science fields, students interested
in careers in these areas should consider this major in physics.
Note that this emphasis has the fewest required courses with the understanding that students will pick from the electives those courses most fitting their interests/plans.
Consult Dr.
Rioux for additional information on this program.
Graduates of
this program have found attractive career opportunities. Examples of recent employers
of graduates of this program are:
- Mercury Marine, Fon du Lac, WI
- Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, CA
- Sommerville Engineering Consultants, Green Bay, WI
- Texas Instruments, Dallas, TX
- Wisconsin Bell, Milwaukee, WI
- Astronautics, San Fransisco, CA
